Our very own Bruno Carnide travelled to London to attend the reception for the new members of The Academy.
It was a delightful evening, and now that he’s back, he tells us the following:
- Bruno Carnide: An incredible evening in London, at the reception for new members of The Academy
A very special moment, where I had the opportunity to meet the Academy’s CEO, Bill Kramer, and its President, Lynette Howell Taylor, and to be surrounded by extraordinary people who inspire me and whose work I follow with great respect.
Accompanied as always by my partner Cátia Biscaia and my friend Cyrus Neshvad, who was nominated for an Oscar, it was one of those experiences that will stay with me forever.
It is a privilege to be part of The Academy and to be able to contribute actively to this community that I admire so much.

Bruno Carnide has been nominated twice for the Sophia Awards, which are organised each year by the Portuguese Academy of Cinematic Arts and Sciences.

Bruno Carnide has made numerous short films, including fiction, animation and documentaries.
He is currently competing on the international film festival circuit with MARÉ VAZA, starring Portugal’s most talented and admired actor, Sérgio Praia.

MARÉ VAZA had its world premiere a few days ago at the prestigious Tirana International Film Festival in Albania.
This film festival is a qualifying event for the Hollywood Oscars and the EFA European Film Awards.

Stay tuned, as we’ll be announcing further successes for our films very soon.
