World Premiere!!

On a magical evening, Besim Ugzmajli and Rilindje Sadiku presented their documentary Two Lives in Tight Socks in the official competition at the Dokufest, the International Documentary & Short Film Festival. This film event serves as a qualifying event for the EFA, the European Film Awards.

Besim Ugzmajli about Two Lives in Tight Socks:

This film holds extraordinary significance for me and my wife, Rilindje.
It has been a long and difficult process, filled with many doubts about whether this story should even become a film.
Being caught in the midst of so many personal struggles while trying to turn those very struggles into cinema has been incredibly challenging for both of us.
We felt that this story needed to be shared with you, considering this as a rare and invaluable opportunity to express the pain that life itself inflicts in a country like Kosovo — a country still in transition.
The life of our son, by default, is bound to be shaped and hurt by the circumstances of a fragile state. In these difficult conditions, we couldn’t even leave Kosovo due to my wife’s health.
In Kosovo, a woman has to think long and hard before deciding to bring a child into this world.
It is this sense of absurdity that we have chosen to share with you through the medium of film — and the opportunity to do so would mean the world to us.

Two lives in Tight Socks, a coproduction between Kosovo and Spain, will announce more festivals where it will be competing this Autumn. Including Oscar qualifying festivals.
