Rubén Díez

Rubén Díez, known in the digital world as Lethal Crysis, was born on September 28, 1997, in Portugalete (Vizcaya), although he spent his childhood in Castro Urdiales (Cantabria).
In his early years on YouTube, Rubén posted videos of home experiments, challenges, and lighter content, but little by little, his scientific curiosity transformed into human curiosity.

He began to delve into remote communities, ethnic groups with little-known customs, territories marked by conflict or inequality, and realities that rarely appear in traditional media. Over the years, his channel evolved to become a benchmark for independent documentary filmmaking.

At the same time, Rubén founded Ojo de Nómada, a project that delves into the experience of travel itself. Through this initiative, he organizes author-led trips to hard-to-reach places, designed to connect authentically with local communities and experience the reality of the destinations from within.

In 2024, he took another step forward in his career by presenting Destino Antártida (Destination Antarctica), a documentary series produced by Playz and RTVE, in which he explored the white continent and the daily life of Spanish scientific bases in Antarctica.

Among his most important projects is the documentary on the war in Ukraine, in which he traveled to the front lines of the conflict to show a deeply human perspective. Far from the usual political or military focus, Rubén focused his gaze on the people: soldiers, civilians, volunteers, families… His goal was not to explain the war, but to give a voice to those who live it.

The pages of his book Un mundo de historias (A World of Stories) encapsulate Rubén’s philosophy: adventure as a form of learning, the thrill of discovery, and a deep respect for cultural differences.
Today, at 28, Rubén Díez continues to explore the planet with a clear conviction: that travel is not about reaching faraway places, but about understanding the inner worlds of those who inhabit them.
