“João Pedro Pinheiro was born in Porto in 2000. Since early age, the contact with the cultural and artistic production world, led him to visit several stages and backstages in the most well-known venues in Portugal.

 

In 2016, He starts his working career while attending classes in the High School Degree in Audiovisual Techniques. He enrolled in OFICINA – Professional School of Nun’Alvres Institute (2015-2018). Then he graduated in Audiovisual Communication Technology in the School of Media Arts and Design – Instituto Politécnico do Porto (2018-2021) where he also got the opportunity to take part in the Cinematography class at Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School, Poland (2019-2020). 

Since then, he has been developing several working skills in camera and lighting departments, taking part in national and international productions, such as advertising, short films, feature films and tv series. In 2021, he shots his first short film as Director of Photography in “Fora de Jogo” [Dir. José Freitas].  

Despite his short career, he is known for his creativity and pro-activity and is always searching for innovative solutions to overcome challenges. He shows high capacity in teamwork and always embraces every one of his projects with commitment, dedication, and passion. “
