Iván Linares was born in Mexico City in 1995. During his childhood he did not have a great relationship with cinema, and it was not until later that he began to be interested in arts.
At the age of 19 he went to live in Berlin for a while, and there he began to take photographs as a hobby and watch movies compulsively. Little by little, he was acquiring taste and sensitivity towards the seventh art.
In 2017, he moved to Madrid and began studying audiovisual communication at the Complutense University. Two years later, he met his teacher and filmmaker Sergi Perez in Barcelona, who encouraged him to enroll in the Master of Film Direction at the Catalonia Film School (ESCAC). During the master, Iván made his short “La Nueva Normalidad” which premiered at the prestigious Morelia Film Festival in 2020.
