Andor Berényi was born in Kaposvár, Hungary in 1995. He is living in Budapest, where he got his BA diploma at Eötvös Lóránd University’s Film Studies course. The work on László Nemes’s Sunset was the start of his professional filmmaker career. He has been working as an Assistant Director since 2014. His BA diploma short, “Sunday” (2019) debuted in London (Sunday Shorts Festival) with Jury Award. Küstendorf was the first screening of the film on a big festival. After the Hungarian premiere at Friss Hús, the film has won Bronze Busho at Budapest Short Film Festival.
Later he studied at FAMU Prague Directing MA, and made SUPPER in Prague with Hungarian actors. Now he is developing his first feature film “Gentle Dream” in the National Film Fund’s Inkubátor Program. The shooting of the film will start in early 2023.
