Personal message from Bruno Carnide:

  • I am very proud to announce that “The Girl Who Walked on Snow” has just won the Grand Prize for Animation at Farcume: Faro International Short Film Festival
  • After its premiere in 2024 at the Monster Festival in Lisbon, the film has already been screened in more than a dozen countries and festivals classified for the Oscars and the European Film Awards.
  • This is a cinematic work that transcends the boundaries between artist and machine, a unique and harmonious collaboration between human creativity and the innovative potential of artificial intelligence.
  • In this distant place, we immerse ourselves in the lives of the saddest girls, whose journey is portrayed through 34 AI-generated 2D animation shots, carefully selected from more than two thousand shots generated using specific instructions to illustrate the narrative. We firmly believe that AI is not a threat to artistic authenticity, but rather a tool that expands creative capabilities.
  • Behind the digital curtains, over several months of work, human artists played a crucial role in the realization, editing, composition, color, and visual effects of the generated images, as well as in all aspects that make this narrative unique, such as the plot and soundtrack. Every element, from the narration and sound to the graphic design, was meticulously crafted and created by humans.
  • “The Girl Walking on Snow” is not just a film, it is a testament to the balance between technological innovation and artistic expression. The title not only suggests our protagonist’s journey, but also highlights the path of AI alongside human creativity. We hope this work will be a source of inspiration and reflection on the potential for collaboration between humans and machines.
  • Many thanks to everyone who has embarked on this adventure with me: Paulo Graça Ana VMA Fernandes, Cátia Biscaia Miguel Samarão, Tiago Iúri Eduardo M Escribano Solera.
