Thrilled to announce that two shorts by Mailuki Films have been selected for Official Competition at the 19th Edition of the Beirut Shorts International Film Festival:
- My Plastic Mother, by Amar Haikal, Indonesia
- Five Seasons of my Childhood, by Besim Ugzmajli, Kosovo & Spain
Beirut Shorts International Film Festival, an Academy Awards (OSCARS) qualifying film festival, is the most prominent short film festival in the Arab world. Founded in 2007, and organized annually by the Beirut Film Society, the festival has grown to be a significant platform under the constant theme, “The Power of Youth.”

My Plastic Mother, aka Anak Macan, is an Indonesian production that will be premiered at Leeds International Film Festival, UK.
In its first month on the film festival circuit, it is enjoying enormous success, receiving selections at several film festivals that qualify for the Hollywood Oscars which we will announce progressively.

Five Seasons of my Childhood is the latest film from Kosovan filmmaker Besim Ugzmajli, a regular at Mailuki Films.
It premiered worldwide at the last Tampere Film Festival in Finland and has since competed at festivals in America and Europe.
In a few days, it will compete at the prestigious FILMETS in Badalona, a qualifying event for the Goya Awards.

At Mailuki Films, we are delighted to have this opportunity to participate in one of the most exciting film festivals in the world, Beirut Shorts, and in one of the most beautiful countries.

And as we always say, stay tuned. We will be announcing new successes very soon.
