Thrilled to announce that the short film Her Name is Carla, by the Portuguese director, Catia Biscaia, is an Official Selection at the Summer Session of Ural Shorts, an International Short Film Festival held in the 300-year-old city of Nizhny Tagil, on the border of Europe and Asia, which is called the “Russian Manchester” in the middle of the Ural Mountains. 

Her Name is Carla was premiered at Hollywood Oscar qualifying St Louis International Film Festival, USA.

Catia Biscaia is a Professional photographer – awarded nationally and internationally – and university lecturer in the field of Image. She also works in the area of Cinema as Director of Leiria Film Fest (International Short Film Festival), producer and image assistant for award-winning films such as: «Hushed. Left. Jumped», «Fled. Lay. Fell», «Manuel» (directed by Bruno Carnide), among others.
«Her name is Carla» is her first work as a director.
