The first edition of the Macao International Film Festival kicks off with two filmmakers by Mailuki Films in competition:

• Àlex Lora, with The Masterpiece 🇪🇸
• Bruno Carnide, with Memories of an Empty House 🇵🇹 🇪🇸

They will compete for the following awards:

• Best Film Award
• Best Director Award
• Best Technical Contribution
• Best Innovative Storytelling Award

The Masterpiece was premiered and awarded with the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival and Memories of an Empty House was premiered at the Hollywood Oscars qualifying Tirana International Film Festival, Albania; Zinebi Bilbao International Documentary and Short Film Festival, Spain; and Izmir International Short Film Festival, Turkey.
